Choir info

Just me with a few reminders. Tomorrow is tech rehearsal. Pick up your child at 5:45 please. Door 15.

Thursday is dress rehearsal. Again we will all be done at 5:45 p.m. Door 1 7th grade, Door 15 6th grade, and Door 21 for 8th grade.

We are at the point of begging for volunteers. We need ushers: you’re going to be there anyway so usher! You can save your seat before the auditorium opens.

We need chaperones. The kids are loud but most of them are very respectful. We just need adult supervision to keep them settled down until they get out on stage. All of them will be out on stage for the last half of the show. You can slip into the auditorium at that point. Easy Peasy.

Tickets are on sale now. Students purchase them during class. Don’t forget that chaperones, locker decoration people, and photographers get 2 free tickets. Tell your child what time you need your tickets for. 4:30 or 7:00 p.m.

Dinner crew is a bit scary. We just need adults to surround the cafeteria at 5:30 and make sure students do not leave their seat. If they are messy they get to clean all of the tables. 🙂

Finally we only have 1 signed up for tear down crew. We have a lot of costumes and decorations to pack up after the show. Please lend a hand.

Thanks again!

Updates for Christmas

2 things!!!

I’m sure that a lot of you were holding off signing up for volunteer positions until you finished with all of your Thanksgiving festivities but the Tech Rehearsal, Dress Rehearsal, and Shows are next week! Yikes. We have some big “emergency” needs so please carefully read through these and see if there is a way you can help. Then go to sign up genius and sign up for that job. P.L.E.A.S.E.

Here is what we need for each grade:

Grade 6 Concert 1 Chaperone: need 1, Concert 2 Chaperone: need 2, Usher show 1: need 2, Usher Show 2: need 1, Dinner Crew need 2, Tear Down Crew need 2,

Grade 7: Dress Rehearsal Chaperone need 3, Locker Decorations need 2 (1 for each class), Concert 1 Chaperone need 2, Concert 2 Chaperone need 3, Usher Show 1 need 2, Usher Show 2 need 2.

Grade 8: Dress Rehearsal Chaperones need 2, Concert 1 Chaperone need 2, Concert 2 need 2, Dinner Crew need 5, Tear down crew need 2.

2ndly, 6th grade parents or new choir student parents I wanted to let you know that you will buy your tickets by sending in money to the choir class. We will give your kids your tickets there. The cost is $3. Please let your child know what show you want them for. The 4:30 or 7 p.m. You may buy tickets to both shows if you would like! Babies and toddlers do not need a ticket. 🙂 Some volunteer positions receive 2 free tickets, such as chaperones, photographers, and locker decorations. Just tell your child what time you want those tickets for and they can ask me for them.

Thank you for supporting us during this busy time! If you have questions write me an email: armingtonj@mcsin-k12.org

Christmas Concert/SwingFry

Choir Parents we wanted to thank you for your participation in last weekend’s Swingfry. It looks like our two programs made upwards of 20,000.  What a tremendous help that will be!  You would think that we could rest for a while, however, we are 18 practice days away from the Christmas program!  That means a few things.

First, we need you to check your calendars for any conflicts.  We will have a tech rehearsal for any students with special parts on Tuesday, Dec. 5.  A full-dress rehearsal that everyone is expected to attend on Thursday December 7th, and the two concerts on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 4:30 and 7:00 p.m.  If you have a conflict with the Dress Rehearsal or Concerts, please either print a copy of the concert conflict form found on our website, or have your child get one for you.   These will need to be turned in by Monday, November 20th.  Students with conflicts will be given an Essay to write to complete the points for this concert.

Finally,, we will need you to return to nmschoir.org and look under the sign-up genius tab.  We will need many volunteers for this big concert.  We will need Concert 1 or 2 Chaperones, Dress rehearsal chaperones, Water, treats and locker decoration donations, as well as ushers, dinner crew, and box office help.  Please lend a hand where you can!

Thanks again for all your help for last weekend’s Fall Fundraiser.  Hopefully you enjoyed yourself watching your child perform!

Thank you!

Yesterday was wonderful! We just want to thank all of you for making it possible!! From buying the black and whites, to baking, serving as volunteers, and being a great audience, we couldn’t ask for more! Our volunteer slots were covered, there was a lot of silent auction and baked goods donated, and the kids were proud of themselves! Kids need to work hard and see the results of a job well done these days! Thanks to your applause they felt special! Your opinion matters most to them so thank you!! We are hoping that some of you got great videos since we had no videographer. If you did lease send us a copy!!

Armingtonj@mcsin-k12.org. Thank you again!

Sincerely, Mrs. Armington, and Mr. Norwood!

last minute issue!

Please bring your phones or recording devices if you would like to record your student’s performance.  Unfortunately, our Videographer is unable to attend today.  If anyone happens to have capabilities and is willing to record our event please let me know.  Thank you for your understanding in this matter!  We do apologize for the inconvenience!

See you at the Swing Fry.
