Reminder

The Green Carpet Gala Choir parent meeting is at 7 Monday night! We will get you in and out as fast as possible but we really need a parent from each home to get all of the information! We will see you soon!!

Knight Lights 2023-24 Cast List

Congratulations to the newly selected Knight Lights cast this year and well done to all those who put themselves out there and auditioned! These were some of the strongest auditions we’ve had! Don’t forget rehearsals will start next week (7:30am Tuesday morning) with the reveal of the 2023-24 Show happening at the Green Carpet Gala Monday night at 7pm. Congratulations all and have a great weekend!

Show Choir Auditions!

Today students tried out for Knight Lights Show Choir! The results will be posted on Friday afternoon. We will also publish them here! Those who make it should come to the green carpet gala along with their parents. There will be a special section of that meeting where the show will be revealed, financial information will be given out, and there will be time to ask Mr. Norwood questions about the year to come!

Parent Info coming home!

Below you will find an invitation to our only Parent meeting! We ask that one parent from each choir home come to this meeting. We will be giving details about everything we have planned and how you can help. Please read below for the parent letter.

We also would like to let you know of an opportunity for your child. Goshen College will be having auditions for a choir called Shout For Joy. Students may audition for this distinguished choir from 7 – 8:15 on Monday Aug 14 and Monday Aug 21. Their performances will take place in the Goshen College GOREGEOUS Sauder Hall under the direction of Sandra Hill. Rehearsals will be Mondays from 7 – 8:15 in the Music Building.

Finally I’m sure you noticed that I accidently put the calendar on the back of the paper you were to turn in! So, I’m sending home a yellow form with all of the dates for this year. I apologize for my ditzy mistake!!

Here is a copy in case you just want to print one out!

Welcome to NMS Choir!

Parents and students you will find a lot of information on the nmschoir.org website! Please click “FOLLOW” found in the right column on this page. When you click FOLLOW that means that you will receive all of our parent notes directly in your email box! No more digging in the back pack to find your copy!!

Also on this page you will find a tab labeled SIGNUP GENIUS. This is where we go to post volunteer positions each year. We ask that you volunteer in at least one or two areas for each concert. The sooner you do this the more choices you will have!

The LOCKER DECORATIONS TAB shows examples and shares info regarding making locker decorations for your child’s class.

We also post PRACTICE RECORDINGS AND CHOREOGRAPHY VIDEOS for our students.

Finally you will find parent info under the PARENT INFO tab.

Attached you will find a copy of the first parent letter we sent home on Wednesday. Please review it and then turn in the pages that have stars drawn for your signatures BY THIS COMING FRIDAY! The stars are only printed on the copies we sent home.

One final note is regarding our Resident Voice Teacher Mrs. Mary Norwood. She teaches voice lessons during choir class and after school. Students receive one on one attention and training for their voices. Parents often prefer to have lessons during school to avoid another taxi trip. She has slots available in every class but they fill up quickly. Here is her contact information in case you are interested!

Summer Festival

sign up here!

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4DAAAE2AA2F4C52-20231

We are looking forward to working together at the Summer Festival THIS weekend.  Again, thanks to everyone who has signed up!

We still have 21 slots to fill, with the biggest needs being Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.  Please consider picking up some of these shifts to help make this fundraiser a success.  Remember, these events are what provide the funds that allow us to keep our fees low and the program successful.

Our booth is with the other food vendors in Memorial Park, downtown Middlebury.  I have not been told exactly where our booth will be, but it’s typically to the south side of the park, adjoining Jerry’s Standard Services.  We will have a 10′ by 20′ tan canopy and black Northridge Choir table covers.
8th grade students can pair up and work a slot or two as well, but we are hoping our Choir Parents will step in and volunteer.
Thanks for lending a hand!! Mrs. Armington.

Last Minute Reminders…

Tickets ($3) will be available at the door.

First come first serve seating. Doors open 45 minutes before each show.
