As of today we have vocal tested each student and have assigned parts for each of our 6 choirs (Soprano, Alto, Baritone)!  Each group is doing part singing already!  Here is a glimpse of our Ladies 6th grade Chorus singing a fun round called “I Love The Mountains”.  Enjoy!

We also held auditions for the Knight Light Show Choir.  Interested 7th and 8th graders submitted a vocal recording, and danced in the choreography auditions on Thursday.  Out of over 120 auditions, 35 students were selected.   Here is the list of Knight Lights 2019-20  –>  Knight Lights Cast List 2019_2020

We offer voice lessons from Mrs. Mary Norwood during class time.  There are a few slots left.  First come first served!  Get’em while you can!

We have had a terrific start to the school year.  On the first day we passed out the choir handbook and explained what slips needed to be returned.  If you never received your copy, here is one just for you!  Click here —> NMS Choral Handbook 2019-2020 The last six pages were “homework for parents”.  The volunteer and choir commitment forms are due Friday, August 16th.  The last 2 pages (Choir Fee form) won’t be due until August 30th.  If you would please sign those pages, that would be very helpful to us.

Final call out – show choir camp registrations are due June 30 so send yours in THIS WEEK! Singing & dancing with Syd & Mary…don’t miss out, it’s a *BLAST*! Students going into grades 6-9

We need to have parents oversee our student dinner in the cafeteria between shows.  All that is necessary is walking around giving the “evil eye” to students who get out of their seat without permission.   Students raise their hand when they are ready to leave and you check their table/floor area for messes.  If there’s a mess, THEY CLEAN THEM UP.  After all of the kids are gone parents stick around and wipe down tables and sweep the floor.  We need quite a few more people….and since you’ll be at the show anyway….wouldn’t you please lend a hand?  Just go to signup genius and signup under dinner crew.  Pr-e-t-t-y Pleeze?  * Dinner Crew meets in the NHS Cafeteria between 5:15 – 5:30 to set up for dinner.  You can also come after show 1 if that is the show have tickets for.   It should be over by 5:45 p.m.

Don’t forget that Peter Pan the NMS Musical will be taking place this weekend!  Shows will be 7:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday night.  You can get your tickets in advance by using this link —>PeterPan Advanced Tickets or at the door if there are any left. 🙂

We sent home a parent letter Friday and are not hearing back from very many parents, so here are a few reminders:

T-Shirt Money should be turned in by Friday if at all possible.  ($9)   Donations towards other kids shirts will be gratefully accepted.

Food Donation Money is desperately needed to pay for dinner for the 400+ little stars that we have.  Please send in your donation asap so that we can sleep at night.
