The 7th Grade Choir Fun Night was a complete success.  We had about 65 kids stay and take part in the Costume Competition.  Kudo’s go out to the Stick Man, The two Loofas, Box, and Wacky Robot, Scary Scarecrow, Cute Scarecrow, Little Bo Peep,  Phantom of the Opera, the color race winner, PURPLE, IT 1 and It 2, Angel/Devil, Miranda Sings, and THE Hostage!  We enjoyed Rulli’s Pizza and fudge brownies with some pop and then had fun doing a PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT!  Thus, the very crazy pictures!  Thanks mom’s and dad’s for letting us do this.  It was too fun!

SwingFry Parent Letter 2017

What a fun filled Lock in we had Friday night.  So many beautiful moments, funny moments, memorable moments.  Thank you, Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Wolfe, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Slater for boldly going “where no man has gone before!” Having these wonderful moms help made things even more special for our girls.  We’ve posted 3 videos and numerous photos on Facebook so be sure to check out our ZANY all nighter!

Because we have the best kids in the world we would like to spend time with them outside of the school day so that we could get to know them better.  We will be having a choir fun night for each grade.

• The 6th graders will be invited to rollerskate at Eby Pines with us on Tuesday, November 7th.
• The 7th graders will be invited to a pizza/photo scavenger hunt/ costume party, on Thursday, November 2nd.
• The 8th grade ladies will be invited to stay for a LOCK IN, here at NMS next Friday night from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.   The boys are welcome until 10:30 p.m.

What a wonderful evening we had with the Just The Guys Concert.  We hope you enjoyed watching your young men grow so much in their first 9 weeks this year.  The 6th grade ensemble apparently has a new fan club, the 7th/8th grade ensemble has its own groupies, and I think our 6/7/8 Combined Choir with Mr. Detwiler on percussion and Mr. Cone on Bass just stole the show for the evening.  Yes, I’m a biased Mama Armington, but I do think they were outstanding.  If you would like to catch some of the great pictures Jay Yaney  took during the show you will find them on our Facebook page.

Our boys were so grateful for the cool locker decorations  Bethany Rudd, Dana Beaver, Tobi Oxenrider, and Marcy Showalter made.  Here’s what they looked like!

Our boys wrote a couple of thank you notes for all of the parents who helped this show be so much fun.  Here are a few samples:

We would love to relax and bask in the glory of this show, but our SwingFry program is just about 3 weeks away!!!!  Please double check your calendars for any conflicts.  If you find one, please have your child complete a conflict form and turn it in by Tuesday, October 23rd so that it can be excused and we can give them an alternate Essay to do.

Great job students!  Choosing to be a leader isn’t always the easy thing to do, but when you make that choice good things really happen!  We appreciate how much each of you do in our class to make the most of your time with us.   “Two Hooves Up” to all of you.

P.S. Please don’t forget that the SwingFry Ticket Pre-Sale Order due date is approaching quickly.  October 24 is next Tuesday.  No orders will be taken after Tuesday.  Remember, your child gets in to all shows for free, but you will need to pay for their dinner.    I am sending an additional order form home tomorrow with all interested students.  

Please remind our boys that they need to bring their black and whites to school Monday IF they are staying for the “LONG HAUL”.  (Black socks, shoes, pants and white shirt)

They must have their signed parent permission slip in on Monday if they aren’t riding the bus home.  (See previous post if you need a copy 😉)

If they are getting dropped off, please drive around to the pool parking lot in the back of NHS and let them out at door 15.  We will meet them in the auditorium at 5:25 p.m.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m.  Doors open about 7:10 p.m.  Free and open seating!

Thanks for your help parents!  This will be such a fun show!  Don’t miss it!
