NMS Last tidbits…

lights-camera-action-600

A few things before tomorrow…

1.  If you have lost your info paper for Swingfry here are the times!
6th  will meet in the 400 Hall 2:20 – 2:30, their show will be at 3:00 in the NHS Auditorium.
7th will meet in the 400 Hall 3:00 – 3:10, their show will be at 3:40 in the NHS Auditorium.
8th will meet in the 400 Hall 3:40 – 3:50, their show will be at 4:20 in the NHS Auditorium.
The Just The Guys portion of the show will take place in the 4:40 set.
2.  Please come hungry!  It will be all you can eat, so save some room!  (The pie is amazing)
3.  Students who are staying to watch 2 additional choirs for their assignment should sit with their parents if they can.  If you are not going to be available they may sit up in the balcony.  We would really appreciate a few parents sitting up there to keep an eye on them.  If you see some of our “lambs” talking, working on their phones, or messing around please ask them to stop.  If they don’t stop, please ask them to leave the balcony area or ask an usher to escort them out.
4.  Tickets are on sale tomorrow.  If you haven’t gotten yours yet, you will find tables set up all over the place where you can purchase dinner/show tickets, or just show tickets.
5.  The silent auction is in the auditorium lobby.  We have some pretty nifty items.  Please check it out.
6.  Don’t bother baking for Sunday….our Bake Sale will have plenty of wonderful things you can purchase!  Now you can go to bed early on Saturday night to make up for the sleep you lost watching the cubs WIN!

Thank you for all that you have done to help make this possible.  The locker decorations were amazing, the treats and water donations worked out perfectly at dress rehearsal, our chaperones “lived to tell about it”, and showed patience and kindness to our kids.  Phone moms reminded all of us of our commitments, and our Swingfry workers are making it possible for our singers to raise the money they need for this year’s concerts.  We are excited to show them all off tomorrow!  See you then, Mrs. A

Last minute info from NHS for Swingfry Volunteers and donations!

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer at the Swing Fry event. Each of you are the reason we can continue to have this fun and successful fundraiser every year! Your time is appreciated more that you know. If you need to verify your shift time or location, please refer to the sign up page:

http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c054eafa828a6f58-swingfry (cut and paste this link)

If possible, we ask for our volunteers to wear black and white. Don’t go out and buy new clothes for your volunteer shift though! Set up crew, clean up crew, and anyone whose shift involves being outside should just wear comfortable clothing.

Donation Information: Your bake sale and silent auction donations are so appreciated! Please drop off your bake sale items in the south lobby by the high school auditorium between the following times:

Friday 11/4/16 between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM

Saturday 11/5/16 between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM

Silent Auction items can also be dropped off Friday evening!

We have a great Silent Auction! Don’t forget to bring your checkbook so you can pick up your auction items at the end of the evening!

What would you do when no one was looking?

Well, they said it couldn’t be done.  They said I was crazy!  Ok, the second rumor has been proven to be true, but LOCK-IN 2016 was so so fun!  Our 8th grade girls were unbelievable.  They didn’t stop until I said “It’s 3:15 time for lights out”, a few giggles, phone texts, and within 15 minutes I heard nothing but purrs, a few snorers, and one sleep talker.  Thank you to the 4 bravest choir moms in Middlebury:  Mrs. Worland,  Mrs. Drepin, Mrs. Brewer, and Mrs. Whitaker!  They added to our fun, and held in there until the last phone light clicked off!

Here is a sneak peak!

Just The Guys!

We are posting great pictures from the concert last night on our Facebook page as they come in from our photographers.  Click on the Facebook link found on the right side of this page if you want to see the young men in action!

Thank you moms and dads for the treats, cool locker decorations, taxi driving, shopping, phone call reminders, and help chaperoning!   You are SWELL!!!  We hope you enjoyed the mini preview of what’s to come this year!  3 weeks until SWINGFRY!  Yikes!!!

From the HS Directors – A SwingFry Update for All Choir Parents

note-from-director-2     Hello everyone! We are still in need of volunteers for the Swing Fry on November 5th. Without the parents and friends of the choirs help, we can not run the Swing Fry as well as it needs to be run. If you have already signed up, thank you. If you have not, please sign up for a shift or two, share the link with your parents, neighbors and friends. This is an easy 2 hour shift on a Saturday that is a TON of fun!!! Not only is this a great time to support the choirs, but it is one of our largest fundraisers of the year! If we did not have Swing Fry, everyone’s Choir Fees would have to go up AT LEAST $65.25. So please sign up below today!!!

Cross-Eyed Sailor Sol….Quartet

66946

The problem with having so many talented students in our choirs is it becomes even more difficult during solo auditions to choose just one.:( And so we made it a quartet because I couldn’t choose just one. Congratulations to Josiah Cross, Caden Mack, Drew Stahly, and Noah Sties who will be our singing of the woes of a slightly-off vision seafarer in our combined number “The Ballad of the Cross-Eyed Sailor”. Hope to see you all there Monday evening! It’s going to be fantastic!!

Just the Guys….and…

These are some of the cool locker decorations our choir moms made for our guys.  JUST THE GUYS CONCERT is Monday!!!  ohhhh myyyyy…..you are not going to want to miss this show…..you should have seen our young men as they rehearsed (all 110) this week!  I thought their eyes were going to pop out!  They couldn’t believe what they sounded like!  You won’t believe it either!!!  Monday night the NHS Auditorium doors will open at 7:10 p.m. Free…but worth so much more.  (FYI park in the back of NHS by the pool- enter door 15.)

6th graders had a blast skating and so did we!   Thanks mom’s and dads for letting them come.  Pictures are on Facebook!

7th graders movie n pizza party is tomorrow after school.  Thank you parents for offering to send in cookies!  We should have a great time! Zootopia is the viewers choice!

8th grade lock-in is going to happen! YIKES!  5 very brave moms will be braving through the night with us.  October 28 7 pm – 8 am.  Please pray.

Swingfry updates:

Monday is your last day to get Swing Fry advance tickets.  Please send in your ticket order form (and payment) by noon on Monday.  Time is running out.  Git’r done.

Word of advice from (Grand)Mama Armington:  don’t wait much longer to find your child’s choir black and white outfit.  Every year the stores sell out and parents are running to Granger to find something.  We do collect “like new”  hand me downs.  If you would like to donate clothes or have your child hunt through our collection just let us know!

Finally, a note to our choir kids:  Look at all the things your parents are doing for YOU.  Don’t forget to say thank you!

Parent Letter for September 30, 2016

News just in!  We have just received the details for the JUST THE GUYS Concert, Monday, October 17th from the high school directors.  We want to pass this on to all of you so that you can make plans for this amazing show.

dsc_6713

First, this is a free concert!

Secondly, the only performers…yes, you guessed it…are “just the guys”.    Girls are encouraged to come and support our gents, but it is not required.  They will receive a FREEBIE pass if they do attend this concert.  Mr. N and I will be passing those out after the program in the lobby.

Now, for our star performers – here is the schedule:img_0155

Just the Guys Details

5:45pm – NMS Guys will meet in the high school choir room. Rehearse: “Ballad of the Cross Eyed Sailor”

6:00pm – Pizza Served (dinner for NMS and NHS performers in the NHS cafeteria) – no charge.

6:30pm – MS/HS Mass Choir Staging/Rehearsal

7:10pm – Doors open for audience to enter

7:10-7:25pm – High school guys get dressed.  NMS Guys rehearse in choir room and put ties on.

7:30pm – Show Begins

8:15 – 8:30 Show is over.  Parents pick up their son in the auditorium lobby.

Our boys will need to wear their concert attire for the year.  This is listed in the choir handbook.  Basically the boys need black dress pants, black shoes (t shoes are o.k.), black socks, and a long sleeve white dress shirt.  The boys will receive a choir clip on dress tie during rehearsal before the show.  Their shirt will need a collar.

This is a must see concert!  Clear your schedule, and invite everyone you know!

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                            Mrs. Armington
